A Turkish private plane carrying eight passengers and three crew members crashed into a mountain in central Iran on Sunday, killing all on board, the Iranian authorities said. The crashed plane was carrying Turkish socialite and daughter of billionaire businessman Huseyin Basaran, Mina, and her friends who were returning home from bachelorette party held in Dubai.
According to Reuters reports the crashed plane was owned by the private holding company of Huseyin Basaran Those on board included Basaran’s daughter Mina and seven of her friends, all flying back from a party ahead of her planned wedding next month.
Basaran, was the former deputy chairman of Trabzonspor football club, and he owns businesses that span yachts to energy. His construction projects include a series of luxury apartment blocks on Istanbul’s Asian side called “Mina Towers”, named after his daughter.
